It was an honour to be nominated for the 2024 'Contractor of the Year' at Santos' annual Directors' Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHSS) Awards last night.
While we didn't walk away the win, it was still an amazing experience to be one of three nominees to be recognised for excellence in the contractor category.
GRPS CEO Cameron Wills acknowledged that it was a team effort that helped secure the nomination in the first place and thanked the 100-strong GRPS crew working on the Santos projects including those onsite, HSEQ, administration and management.
“We have worked with Santos now for nearly 20 years and such a long-standing relationship could not be possible without the hard work and dedication that our teams put in day in and day out,” Mr Wills said.
“A big thank you to all our teams involved,” he said.
GRPS' nomination was based on a number of their key achievements including:
- IVMS Index Success: Maintained a low IVMS Index with no Life Saving Rules breached
- Behavioural Focus: Encouraged a shift from KPIs to understanding and influencing behavioural change
- Coaching Initiatives: Implementing coaching programs to enhance skills and safety awareness
- Electronic Reporting: Leveraging technology for efficient reporting and monitoring
- Prioritisation: Focusing on understanding people and the rationale behind decisions
- Community Engagement: Involvement and support of a number of community initiatives which contribute back into the communities GRPS works within.
